Can I Move My Shepherd’s Hut to a Different Place Once Sited?

A shepherd’s hut is movable by nature. But can you reposition it to a new site after it’s been placed? We answer all…

The easy answer is yes, it is possible to reposition your hut, and even take it with you if you move. Our shepherd’s huts feature a fully steerable chassis that will allow them to be moved, or, if the landscape allows, they can be craned out of places.

There are, however, factors to consider. If you intend to move your hut just a short distance, then ensure the utilities can be routed to the new position and that there are adequate foundations. Electrical cables and water pipes can be extended, but waste functions will need a little more consideration, depending on how they’re currently treated. The hut itself should be able to be moved by a tractor or 4x4, provided there are no obstructions in your way.

If, however, you need to move your hut a fair distance across uneven fields or ground, or to a whole new property, please give us a call. We can advise on the best course of action and help facilitate this, which may include lifting by crane. In any event, if you’re unsure, drop us a line. We’d be more than happy to help.
