Just when you thought it could not get any better, the father and son team at Red Sky Shepherd's Huts have unveiled their new, improved (and frankly, off the Richter scale romantic) show hut at Millets Farm in Oxfordshire.
The new 16ft x 7ft shepherds hut painted in a palette of soft stone and sage green shades showcases some of the striking new features being offered with a Red Sky Shepherd's Hut. Things like a new traditional metal wheel layout, solid oak stable door, solid oak floor and top quality door furniture such as parliament hinges (no expense spared) are now standard on every hut.
New optional extras have been added such as solid oak windows with interior shutters, hardwood painted single or double stable doors, hardwood painted patio doors and the exterior feather edge timber can now be painted in Farrow and Ball colours. Other bespoke extras can be arranged – solar, shower, loo and kitchenette are some of the most popular requests.
Almost impossibly gorgeous, the new show hut has an interior to match its splendid outer appearance. A black cast iron log burning stove sits next to the hand crafted extendible double sofa bed and scaled to fit furniture and shelving – all painted in complementary muted creams, greens and greys. Attention to detail and true craftsmanship are evident in every inch of this glorious dwelling – from the top quality carpentry of the window frames to the expertly domed ceiling, dotted with high specification lighting.
As with all previous Red Sky Shepherd's Huts, the walls of the new designs are five layers deep: an interior clad wall, a cavity filled with quality sheep’s wool insulation, an exterior ply layer for rigidity and strength, a breathable, high tech membrane and finally an exterior cladding of either wood or corrugated metal.
The solid oak floor and arched roof are also insulated with sheep’s wool and all windows are double glazed. They all come fully wired with a 240 Volt electric hook up pack which provides plug sockets, USB charger, LED lights, dimmers and outside lights.
Commenting on the hardiness and appeal of their lovingly hand-built huts, Red Sky owner Paul Bennett says:
Orders are now being taken for huts to be delivered in 2017 and prices start at around £15,000 including VAT.
The new show hut can be seen at Millets Farm Centre, Kingston Road, Frilford, Oxfordshire
